a secure virtual tunnel through the internet. VPNs enable
users at both ends of the tunnel to use resources of either
network.
VPNs enable workers to use e-mail and share files.
Because VPNs use the internet to create a connection between
the user and the office the bandwidth is often limited. This
means that on some file sharing required by custom
applications such as SAGE is very very slow.
